Our story

Built by a teacher, at our own kitchen table

SATs in 6, by Our Learning Curve, started the same way most useful things do — as a solution to a real problem, for our own family, that turned out to help a lot of others too.

Jaymie Tateson spent over a decade as a Year 6 Primary Deputy Head and SATs Lead, supporting hundreds of children and their families through the SATs every single year. She now works in intervention teaching — working one-to-one with children who need extra support to prepare for their SATs, including children who are unable to attend school.

That experience is the entire foundation of SATs in 6. It isn't a generic worksheet pack written to a template — every question, every repeated topic, every "resource of the week" comes from years of watching, first-hand, what actually helps a Year 6 child feel ready.

The "six minutes" isn't arbitrary either. It's the amount of time a genuinely busy evening can realistically hold — enough for consistent, steady progress, without turning revision into a battle.

What started as papers for our own children, and a handful of Etsy customers, is now becoming SATs in 6 — with the same approach, built out properly for any family who needs it.

Why "Our Learning Curve"?

SATs in 6 is our flagship programme, but it sits under Our Learning Curve — our family's wider effort to make Year 6 (and beyond) a little less overwhelming, for children and parents alike.
